Chris Schmitthenner is a partner in our San Diego office, where his practice focuses mostly on litigation, including personal injury, bad faith, intellectual property, contract disputes, class actions, and commercial litigation. In addition, he represents developers, contractors, and design professionals in all areas of construction-related litigation, and advises those clients on contract negotiations and coverage issues. Mr. Schmitthenner also has experience at the appellate level, having briefed and argued cases before the California Court of Appeal.
Mr. Schmitthenner received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of San Diego, where he was an Executive Editor of the San Diego Law Review. He earned his B.A., cum laude, from California Lutheran University in communications with a journalism emphasis. Mr. Schmitthenner is admitted to the California State Bar and to the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Central, and Eastern Districts of California. He was named to Super Lawyers’ list of Rising Stars for 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, a distinction given to the top 2.5% of attorneys under 40 years old.
