Katie C. Brach’s practice focuses mostly on defense of developers and general contractors in complex civil litigation, including construction defect, personal injury, premises liability, bad faith, and contract disputes. In addition, Ms. Brach advises contactor and developer clients on preventive construction practices, including the drafting of contracts, the purchasing of insurance, contract negotiations and coverage issues. Ms. Brach also has experience at the appellate level, having successfully briefed and argued cases before the California Court of Appeal and the Ninth Circuit United States Court of Appeals.
Ms. Brach received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2008, where she competed nationally on the University of San Diego Mock Trial Team. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from The George Washington University in 2003 in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Geosciences. Ms. Brach started with Lincoln, Gustafson and Cercos, LLP as a law clerk in 2007 and has been practicing since 2008, becoming a partner in 2014. Ms. Brach was named to Super Lawyers’ list of Rising Stars for 2018, 2019, 2020 & 2021, a distinction only given to the top 2.5% of attorneys under 40 years old.
